This famous 16th Century decree carried the aroma of equitable wealth, with young meat considered a luxury in France at the time. A classic French stew in which chicken is braised slowly in red wine & a sometimes a touch of brandy to add richness to the tender meat, crisp bits of bacon, mushrooms and burnished pearl onions & potato. Best served with baguette & a red wine to top this dish off.
